What you agree to when you use sewakarmi

1. What sewakarmi is
sewakarmi is a marketplace that introduces verified workers to people who want to hire them. We provide identity verification, search, and a contact unlock. We do not provide the work itself.
2. Workers are independent
Every worker on sewakarmi is an independent person, not our employee. They set their own availability, their own price, and their own terms. The contract for the work is between you and them — sewakarmi is not a party.
3. No agency fees, no commission
sewakarmi does not charge workers anything, ever. Employers may pay a small fee to unlock a worker's phone number after the initial 3-month free period. We do not take a cut from any transaction between worker and employer.
4. We connect — we do not vouch
We verify that a worker's phone number is real (OTP) and that they have a real Aadhaar card (OCR). We do not verify their skill, their honesty, their criminal record, or their fitness for any specific role. For full-time and live-in positions we strongly recommend a free police verification at your local station and a short trial period before committing.
5. Disputes
sewakarmi does not arbitrate disputes between workers and employers. If something goes wrong, we provide a reporting tool — after 3 reports a profile is hidden pending review. For criminal matters, contact your local police directly. For civil disputes, you may pursue any remedy you have under Indian law against the other party — sewakarmi cannot be made a defendant in such a dispute.
6. Acceptable use
You may not scrape the site, harvest contact data for resale, create fake profiles, impersonate someone, share contact unlocks with others, or use the platform to advertise products or services. We reserve the right to hide or delete profiles that violate these terms, and to ban phone numbers from re-registering.
7. Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, you agree that sewakarmi (including its operators, contractors, and service providers) is not liable for any loss arising from your decision to hire — or to be hired by — any other party introduced via the platform. You indemnify sewakarmi against any claim arising from your conduct on the platform.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in India (specific city to be set in the lawyer-reviewed final version).
